Currently we only use the GPS signals to compute the AeroPoints positions, and not signals from other constellations such as GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, BeiDou and SBAS satellites. This is because in static positioning applications like ours the extra data generally does not add any extra accuracy and can sometimes cause issues. For example, as of 2017, there are no generally accepted precise GLONASS clocks and no GLONASS Signal-in-Space integrity performance standard has yet been established to correct clock anomalies.
While AeroPoints does not use the extra signals, it does receive them, and in future we may use signals from other constellations. For example, generally GPS coverage will be worse in higher latitudes. GLONASS satellites, an alternative to GPS with comparable precision an a full orbital constellation of 24 satellites, can deliver better data at very high latitudes and we are currently testing points with GLONASS to take more advantage of this constellation.
