There are a large range of camera systems on the market, some of these are great for a selfie but poor for photogrammetry.
When starting the upload process for a survey dataset, our uploader will run a series of validation steps to check the files before finalizing the upload.
One of these validation step identifies the camera model. If this is a common camera it will typically be in a database that holds information on the model and how good the dataset is likely to be.
Camera models that have a good record and specifications are recommended, while models that are more likely to produce lower quality datasets are not recommended.
- If you have a camera that appears to be incorrectly flagged as not recommended, there may not be enough information for that particular system. You can still upload the dataset, then raise the question with the support team to review the camera model and add it to the database.
I still can't do it!
