Here are some common reasons why you aren't able to upload PPK data into Propeller.
1. You aren't using the Phantom 4 RTK with Propeller AeroPoints.
The Propeller PPK workflow only can be used with this specific combination of drone and ground control. AeroPoints are optimized to work with this workflow.
You can upload data with high-accuracy geotags, but it is a different workflow from the PPK upload.
If you are using the Phantom 4 RTK with AeroPoints but you are still not able to upload data, it may be because your PPK subscription has lapsed. There is an annual PPK subscription fee, which if expired would prevent you from uploading a PPK survey. This subscription fee is included with your initial PPK purchase and must be renewed annually after the first year.
2. Your AeroPoint survey does not line up with your drone flight.
The AeroPoint(s) needs to be collecting data before you start the drone mission and after it is complete. You should turn on your AeroPoint(s) at least 10 minutes before you start the flight. Collect your AeroPoints in reverse order at least 10 minutes after you finish the mission.
We recommend that after you have turned on and laid out your AeroPoint(s), you should spend that 10 minute block to double-check your drone settings. The time after you finish the flight should be used to check over your drone and to quickly validate your images in the Propeller uploader, in case you need to refly.
3. There is a file issue.
If you are missing either the .BIN or .MRK files (or both), you will not be able to successfully upload a PPK dataset.
Check the folder of your images to make sure there is a PPKRAW.bin file and a Timestamp.MRK file. If these files are not there, please contact Propeller tech support.
4. Your dataset does not pass the uploader validations.
Propeller has validations built into the uploader so to ensure high-quality data for the model of your site. Ideally, all validations will pass and be marked with a green check mark. Orange validations are just warnings, and the data can be uploaded. If a validation is red, you will not be able to upload your data. In this case, please contact your Propeller customer success representative.
The table below lists the validations that a PPK dataset must pass.
For more information on these validations, please see our pilot help materials.
In the event that you still cannot upload a PPK survey, please contact Propeller support by clicking on the support tab or reach out to your customer success representative.
