When purchasing a new computer, or signing up for Propeller / Stratus, people often ask about the minimum requirements for running our tools.

The minimum requirements are:

  • Use Google Chrome.
This is the only supported web browser.
  • Make sure your browser has WebGL support.
Visit WebGL's website to check if your browser supports WebGL. If you see a spinning cube on your screen, your browser supports WebGL.
WebGL is the engine that allows us to run 3D visualisations in your browser.
  • Have a stable internet connection.
The reason we can do powerful tasks on normal computers is through cloud computing and storage, over the internet. Without a stable internet connection, there's no way for you to be able to connect to these services.

And, that's it!

Keep in mind that these are only the minimum requirements.

To improve your experience further, there's one golden rule to keep in mind: more power is always better. Faster internet speed, more RAM, and faster CPU will lead to a faster and smoother experience.

I still can't do it!

We wrote these articles to arm you with everything you need to get the job done on your own, but we understand that sometimes this isn't sufficient.

If you're stuck, the Propeller data success team may be able to help. You can contact our support team by clicking the support tab on the top-right pane of your user portal.
