When setting up your Phantom 4 RTK for the first time, you'll want to activate the DJI Shield protection plan as soon as possible so you can receive a replacement if your drone is damaged.

You are able to renew your Shield protection plan, but you will need to do so before your current protection expires. Please contact Propeller support for more information.

DJI Shield is an enterprise-level plan available in some regions, that provides one year of protection for your Phantom 4 RTK. If your drone hardware is damaged, the Shield will allow you to receive a replacement from DJI in the mail. Your deductible is only $299 for the first Phantom 4 RTK replacement and $399 for the second.

Please follow the steps below to activate the Shield protection plan as soon as you start using your Phantom 4 RTK:

IMPORTANT! This Shield activation process is required to be completed within 48-hours of logging into your DJI account on the drone's controller.

  1. Enter the Shield activation code at the DJI Care website.
  2. If you don't have a Shield activation code, please contact your customer success representative.
  3. Once you enter the Shield activation code, you will be asked to enter your aircraft's serial number.
  4.  You can find this number on the inside of your drone's battery compartment. The serial number has 14 digits and will look similar to this: "0V2CF9X0AXXX84"
  5. Enter your personal information and follow any additional instructions on the DJI Care website to finish the Shield activation.

If, during the process above, you receive an error that says "your product can no longer be bound to this service," then the 48-hour window has likely lapsed. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Send an email to support@dji.com with the title Remote Video Verification Request for Shield Activation. The email should say: "I am writing to request assistance activating my DJI Shield. The DJI Care website gives me an error saying 'your product can no longer be bound to this service.' I would like to activate my Shield for my Phantom 4 RTK drone using the remote video verification procedure. Please let me know the best way to complete that process."
  2. DJI Support will respond with instructions on how to create a video demonstrating that the drone is in working order. Create a video following DJI's instructions as closely as possible. If you can't complete one of the steps they ask for, mention this in the video and move on the to next one until you're finished.
  3. Send your video to DJI Support. You should receive an email from them saying that your request was approved.
  4. Once approved, enter the Shield activation code (contact your customer success representative if you haven't received one) at the DJI Care website, followed by your aircraft's serial number on the subsequent page.
  5. Enter your personal information and follow any additional instructions on the DJI Care website to finish the Shield activation.
