What Are the Minimum Requirements to Run Propeller on My Computer?

When purchasing a new computer or signing up for a Propeller software license, people often ask about the minimum requirements for running our tools.

Minimum requirements

1. Use Google Chrome.

This is the only supported web browser. Propeller uses cutting-edge 3D web technologies, which means it will only work in certain browsers. As of May 2024, we support Google Chrome on version 123 or higher. We do not support Chrome on mobile devices (such as iOS) but Propeller Mobile is available in the Google Play or Apple App Store.

To check your version and update Chrome, please follow these instructions from Google.

2. Make sure your browser has WebGL support

WebGL is the engine that allows us to run 3D visualizations in your browser. Visit WebGL's website to check if your browser supports WebGL. If you see a spinning cube on your screen, your browser supports WebGL.

3. Have a stable internet connection with speeds greater than 10 Mbps

We can do powerful tasks on normal computers through cloud computing and storage over the internet. Without a stable internet connection, there's no way for you to be able to connect to these services. Upload and download speeds can vary depending on the size of your data. For optimal performance, we recommend speeds greater than 10 mbps.

Keep in mind that these are only the minimum requirements. To improve your experience further, there's one golden rule to remember more power is always better. Faster internet speed, more RAM, and faster CPU will lead to a faster and smoother experience.

I still can't do it!
