Crew is a platform add-on that gives office teams the power to share interactive maps with professionals in the field. Each map generates a unique URL that can be shared with anyone and viewed on any device.
How to create a Crew link
In the Platform
To get started, select any combination of files in the MEASURE and/or DESIGNS tab that you want to share with your site-based teams.
DXF layers and volume measurements are currently supported for Crew. Line and point measurements are not supported.
After you select the information you want to share, tap on the CREW tab followed by CREATE CREW LINK.
Options to create a shareable link
Once you click CREATE CREW LINK, there are a few ways to share a link:
After creating a link, a map will open in a new window in your browser. Click Copy link to clipboard to copy the link that can be pasted in a browser, SMS, email, or another communication platform. The link will automatically be set to expire in 14 days.
Snap a picture of the QR Code with your cell phone's camera. Hover your mobile device's camera over the QR code to open the shared link automatically. You can send the link directly to your team using SMS, email, or another communication platform using your phone's sharing capabilities.
Finally, you can Print QR Code and share it in hardcopy form to pass along to someone on your team. They can then use their cell phone’s camera to scan the code and open the map on their mobile device.
If you accidentally closed the map window in your browser or want to share the link later, you can still access the shareable link by clicking on the three dots next to the Crew link you created in the ACTIVE LINKS section of the Crew tab.
Crew links automatically expire after 14 days. However, you have the option to change the expiry to any date.
Click on the three dots next to the Crew link you want to extend or edit to change the expiration date.
Several options are available to extend an expiration date on a Crew link, including customizing an expiry date.
Which Crew links have been generated?
There is a record of each link that has been generated through the portal, even if it has expired.
To reactivate an expired link, click on the three dots next to it in the CREW menu and choose RENEW. You have several options with the Change expiry option, including a custom date.
