Web browsers are not 100% reliable for long-lived transactions such as uploading large amounts of data, even when using a supported browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Occasionally, something may go wrong—your connection might drop, or you may accidentally close your browser window during an upload.
Whatever the case, you can resume a dataset upload from where it left off if your dataset meets the following criteria:
✅ You clicked Submit, but the upload was not completed.
✅ The upload was started within the last 24 hours.
✅ The dataset type is Survey or Pre-processed data.
If your dataset meets these conditions, the first step of the Create new dataset flow will include an option to resume the most recent interrupted upload. Click the dataset to continue.
💡 Important: Resuming an upload will not consume additional dataset credits—credits are only charged once the dataset has finished uploading.
Resuming a survey upload
To resume an interrupted Survey dataset upload:
1. Re-add the entire survey from your original submission.
2. Propeller will detect and upload only the missing files.
You'll see the data upload progress bar again.
Once complete, you'll get a message confirming your dataset has been submitted.
Resuming pre-processed data upload
The process for resuming a Pre-processed data upload is the same:
1. Re-add the entire dataset from your original submission.
2. Propeller will detect and upload only the missing files.
3. Click Resume Upload.4. You'll see the data upload progress bar again.
5. Once complete, the dataset will be submitted for processing.
Following these steps, you can quickly recover from an interrupted upload and continue processing your data without losing progress.
