Moving DirtMates Between Machines

When a DirtMate is already installed on a machine, and you intend to install it on another machine, you first need to uninstall it from the machine it is currently assigned to in the DirtMate Management App. Then, you can proceed to the installation process.

Uninstalling

In the App, navigate to the Installs tab to review a list of all the currently installed machines. Find and select the machine in the list.

Select the pencil icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the now active UNINSTALL button.

You will be prompted to verify that you would like to proceed. Select UNINSTALL NOW to proceed. Ensure you complete the uninstall process OR power off the Dirtmate BEFORE dismounting from the machine.

Note: If a Dirtmate is removed from a machine before it is uninstalled or powered off, the change in position and elevation will still be reflected in the 3D surface data provided by the currently "installed” machine.

You will automatically be redirected to the Installs list.

Installing

Now, you can continue by selecting the NEW INSTALL + button at the top of the page.

Next, select the machine you are targeting from the list. If the machine is not found in the list, it will need to be created before proceeding. At the bottom of the list, you will find the CREATE MACHINE + button to use as a shortcut to create a machine if it does not already exist.

After the machine is selected, the DirtMate that was just uninstalled will be available to select from the list (identified by serial number). You can now proceed with mounting the DirtMate on the new machine and performing the required measurements to complete the installation

If you are unsure where to mount the Dirtmate or how to measure the particular machine type, please refer to the “Installing DirtMate on different machine types” article.
