How to Use Survey Explorer

You can see all the surveys found in a site using Survey Explorer. Combine orthophoto, point cloud, or vertical face imagery from any combination of site surveys in a single map to review, plan, and tell a story, regardless of the survey selected in the survey chooser menu.

Specifically, you can:

  • Turn on individual layers across multiple site surveys.
  • Compare layers across a subset of surveys without losing your place.
  • Sort surveys by recently captured (default) or by name.
  • Filter by map view so only surveys within your current map view are listed.
  • Fly to survey to quickly zoom in on a survey for a better look.

Getting started

Survey Explorer is available at the bottom of the SURVEY tab. Click on the caret to expand the list of available surveys.

Turn on the surveys you want to see on the same map by clicking the check box to turn on all files associated with that survey. To view single files in that survey, click the eye icon.

To compare layers across a subset of surveys, select the survey layers you want to see using the eyeball icon and click View Selected. You’ll then only see the subset of surveys with those selected layers. Other site surveys will be hidden.

How to find surveys

You can sort, filter, and search for surveys from the Survey Explorer tool bar in your portal.

Please note that if you apply a filter and use the search tool, the search results will be limited to the filter you created. The number next to the filter icon indicates whether a filter is turned on.

Hovering over the layer will also show you where that survey layer is on the map. This makes it easier to find surveys, especially on a site with several surveys across months or even years.
