Get Started: Register Your Propeller PPK Drone
To upload and process imagery using the Propeller PPK workflow, you must register your drone with us. This article provides a comprehensive guide to registering a new drone or replacing a repaired one.
Your drone's PPK subscription is included for one year after purchase and begins the day you register it.
Registration Steps
Before you begin, ensure you've activated your drone's DJI Care Enterprise Basic. You can register your PPK drone when you upload its first survey.
- Create a new site or upload survey data to an established site in your Propeller portal.
- Select Surveys and begin a Photogrammetry upload.
- Select Use Propeller PPK and click NEXT.
Import your survey data into the uploader.
Click the button in the File validation error to view the drone registration form.
Select Register new drone sensor.
Complete the details on the form. The system should automatically detect the Drone Model and Drone Serial Number from the uploaded image metadata. Some models will require a manual input of the Drone Serial Number. Click NEXT.
Add a Sensor nickname
| ℹ️ Note: Drone sensors are often swapped during repairs. By naming the sensor, you can easily switch it by following the process to register or replace an existing drone. |
Review the information before clicking COMPLETE.
You will get a confirmation that your drone has been successfully registered.
Troubleshooting: Serial Number Detection Failure
During registration, the system automatically reads the drone and sensor serial numbers (S/N) from the image metadata. If this information cannot be detected, refer to the scenarios below.
Only the Drone S/N is Missing
If the system detects the sensor serial number but not the drone serial number, the registration requires manual input of the drone serial number.
Both Drone & Sensor S/N are Missing
If neither serial number is detected, the drone is considered "unknown". You have two options:
- Contact Support: Reach out to our support team for assistance with troubleshooting and registration.
- Use Standard Upload: Exit the PPK workflow and restart the upload using the non-PPK processing, “Use my drone photos” method.
