Understanding your drone's firmware version is crucial for ensuring optimal performance, troubleshooting, and upgrading. Keeping your drone’s firmware and databases up to date guarantees that you're using the latest features and operating within the necessary legal guidelines, such as restricted airspace rules. This guide will help you identify the firmware version on your drone, including the Aircraft Firmware and Fly Safe Database, and provide resources to ensure you're running the latest versions.
How to Check Your Drone's Firmware Version
- Power on the aircraft and remote control.
- On the GS RTK screen, select the hamburger menu at the top-left.
- From the left-side menu, select the drone icon.
- In Device Management, choose Aircraft.
- You will see both the Aircraft Firmware Version and RC Firmware Version listed.
It's important to note that the aircraft firmware version and remote control firmware version are usually different.
Another drone feature that requires regular updates is the DJI Fly Safe Database. It contains information about restrictions on locations for flights. If you plan to fly in any controlled airspace (even with permission), you must be on the latest Fly Safe version.
