How to add and manage photos in Propeller Mobile

Propeller Mobile lets you capture, pin, and manage site photos from the field so your team can view progress in context.

ℹ️ Note: You must have a Field license with at least one seat to activate the Media tab for your organisation. Any user with Edit Media permission can upload, create, comment, and edit media. Any user with Inspect permission can view media.

Add photos to a site

Launch Propeller Mobile, then choose the site and survey you want to add images to.

Tap the yellow plus (+) button and select Camera. Then choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Take a photo

Select Take Photo.
Capture the photo, then tap the tick to confirm.

Option 2: Upload from your photo library

💡 Tip: If you're adding images from your camera roll for the first time, you may need to grant permission to access your photos.

Select Photo Library.
Select the image or images you want to add.

On the Upload media screen

Both options bring you to the Upload media screen. From here you can:

Tap Rename to give the photo a name.
Tap Manage to add or select a category. Note: categories apply to all photos in the batch.
Tap Change under Save to… to select the workspace and folder the photo(s) will be saved in.
Enable Pin all media to one spot to pin multiple photos without GPS data to the same location on the map.

Once ready, tap Place on map to move to the next step.

Locate and pin photos to the map

After the Upload media screen, you'll enter the Locate Media step — a map panel where you pin your photos to a location on site.

If a photo has GPS data, it pins automatically. Photos without GPS data need to be pinned manually.

ℹ️ Note: If you're adding images from your camera roll for the first time, you may need to grant permission to access your photos.

Using the crosshairs on the map, pan to the location for each photo.
- Pinch to zoom in or out as needed.
Once satisfied with the location, tap Upload to site.

Manage photos

Navigate to the Media tab.
Select the photo you want to manage.
Tap the three-dot menu (⋯).
- From here, you can:
  - Fly to media
  - Show the map for comparative viewing
  - Edit the name, location, and category of the image
  - Download a single photo or all photos
  - Delete an image

Add or delete comments

Select the photo, then tap the Comments section.
To delete a comment, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the comment, then select Delete.
