How to Update the Firmware on the Matrice 300/350/400 RTK

Keeping your hardware up to date is critical for flight safety and data accuracy. DJI releases periodic firmware updates for the Matrice 300, 350, and the new 400 RTK ecosystem—including the aircraft, remote controller, battery station, and sensors. This guide walks you through the simple process of updating your kit to ensure the best performance in the field.

Before you start

  • Power Up: Ensure your remote controller and aircraft batteries are fully charged. A mid-update power loss can cause critical errors.

  • Connect: Verify that you have a stable, high-speed internet connection. A poor connection may cause the update to fail or hang indefinitely.

How to update your Matrice 300/350/400 RTK

  1. Launch Pilot App: From the home screen on your remote controller, tap Pilot.

  2. Open Health Management: Tap the Status Icon in the top-right corner to enter the Health Management System (HMS).

  • Note: This icon will be Green (Healthy), Orange (Caution), or Red (Warning) depending on your hardware status.

  1. Select Firmware: Tap Firmware on the left-side menu.


  1. Start Update: The screen will display the release notes for the latest version.

  • Tap the blue Update button to start.

  • If multiple components need attention, the button will read Update All.
