Uploading with AeroPoints
AeroPoints can store over 100 hours of survey data internally, so it's not necessary to upload immediately after each survey, but it can be convenient to do so if your hotspot has a strong connection while on site.
When you're in range of a strong, compatible WiFi network, cycle your AeroPoint into Network/Uploading mode by pressing the power button until the corresponding LED is lit.
The Network/Uploading light will blink when searching for a network, remain solid after a connection has been established, and turn off once any pending uploads have completed.
If your AeroPoint turns off before all uploads are completed, power it back on and allow it to reconnect. The AeroPoint will resume any interrupted uploads.
| 💡 Tip: AeroPoint 1s will indicate they are in Network mode with a slowly blinking LED. A rapidly blinking LED indicates that the AeroPoint has connected and is uploading data. |
When using AeroPoint 2s you can also use the AeroPoints App to monitor the status of their data uploads.
Your AeroPoint data will be available on the AeroPoints dashboard shortly after it has been uploaded. If you’re missing any expected data, ensure you have permission to view the AeroPoint group, or contact support for assistance.
Follow the instructions below to configure your WiFi network for use with AeroPoints.
WiFi configuration
AeroPoints rely on a WiFi connection to upload their survey data to Propeller. AeroPoints will automatically search for and connect to a WiFi access point with the following attributes:
- SSID: propeller
- Password: propeller
- Frequency/Band: 2.4GHz
Using a mobile hotspot is a convenient option for uploading your AeroPoint data in the field. Keep in mind that on some modern smartphones the "Maximize/Extend Compatibility" setting will need to be turned on in order to enable the 2.4 GHz network band.
AeroPoint 2s can also be configured to search for a custom SSID and password using the AeroPoints app. AeroPoints configured in this way will always search for the default propeller/propeller credentials in addition to the custom network.
Follow the instructions below to configure your iOS or Android device’s mobile hotspot for compatibility with AeroPoints. Some menus and settings may vary slightly depending on your device’s software.
