How to Process AeroPoints with the Unreferenced Processing Method

The unreferenced processing method uses the approximate GPS coordinates of one of the AeroPoints laid out as the reference point to determine the positions of the rest of the AeroPoints in the set.

From the AEROPOINTS dashboard, choose the AeroPoint survey you want to process as unreferenced.

Select Unreferenced from the options listed.

While the AeroPoint coordinates will be accurate relative to this reference point, they will not be referenced to a known survey datum such as US State Plane, Australian MGA grid, or a local site coordinate system.

Because of this, you should only use the unreferenced processing method if your data does not need to be globally referenced or compared with other survey data in a defined coordinate system.

The method is useful if only internal accuracy is required because it does not depend on third-party reference data. Your AeroPoints can be processed immediately and do not need to be within range of our corrections network.

Our processing engine automatically picks the AeroPoint with the most time overlap with the other AeroPoints to use as the reference point. Because of this, the AeroPoint laid out first and collected last must have an unobstructed view of the sky to ensure the highest accuracy satellite data is collected.
