Accessing DirtMate Information in the Propeller Mobile App

The Machine Tab in Propeller Mobile gives field teams real-time visibility into worksite equipment, helping them track machine activity, utilization, and productivity. Whether you're monitoring scrapers, haulers, loaders, or graders, this feature lets you see live machine locations, view key performance metrics, and analyze historical movement trails—all from your mobile device.

Each machine type displays different metrics:

  • Scrapers: Smart cycle counts.
  • Haulers & Loaders: Load and dump counts.
  • Graders & Other Machines: Runtime and utilization data.

Viewing machines on the map

Selecting a machine from the list will display its live location on the map. Machines will move in real time, allowing for better tracking and coordination.

Viewing machine trails

To see historical movement trails, select an individual machine. Drilling into a machine, such as a scraper, reveals a detailed view with statistics and trail history.

How to Display the Latest Terrain Surface

When working with DirtMate, you can visualize the most up-to-date terrain surface instead of relying on older drone imagery. This ensures that you are working with the latest data generated by machines on-site rather than outdated drone surfaces.

To enable the latest terrain surface, navigate to the Layers menu and toggle on the DirtMate surface. This will replace older drone data with the most recent surface generated by DirtMate. Only the latest version is displayed, with no historical terrain data included.

Using Tools with the Latest Surface

Once activated, all measurement tools will reflect the most recent data. For example, point measurements will show the latest elevation, cross-sections will align with current site conditions, and design comparisons will be based on the freshest terrain model.

Using the latest terrain surface ensures real-time progress tracking and accurate decision-making. Foremen and site managers can assess proximity to design specifications without relying on outdated surveys. However, remember that updates depend on machine activity, so ensure machines cover the site regularly for continuous accuracy.

Future Updates

Upcoming features will include DirtMate surface layers, allowing users to compare machine-tracked surfaces against design files for more precise site monitoring.

With these tools, Propeller Mobile ensures field teams have real-time visibility into machine performance and site progress, improving decision-making and efficiency on the worksite.
