Moving large files can be burdensome and tricky. As a Propeller customer, moving survey data in and out of Trimble Connect is a seamless process.
Prerequisites
- Trimble Connect account
- Export level permissions on your site (required for sending files to Trimble Connect)
- Edit level permissions on your site (required for moving files from Trimble Connect into Propeller)

How do I send a file to Trimble Connect?

Sign in to your Propeller Portal and navigate to the site you want to export data.
ℹ️ Note: You must have export permissions to move files to Trimble Connect. -
From the OUTPUTS tab, select Files.

In the list of files, select the file type you want to export. Then click PUSH TO and select Trimble Connect.

You will see a prompt to connect to your Trimble Connect account. Click CONNECT TO TRIMBLE CONNECT, and a login window will appear.

Enter your Trimble Connect credentials, and after successful authentication, the menu will show the available regions. Navigate to your region. From here, select your project and the project’s folder. Click SEND HERE.

A pop-up window will show your files being sent to the chosen folder. After completion, you’ll receive a confirmation email, provided that Trimble Connect notifications are enabled.

If there is an issue sending the files to Trimble Connect, you will receive an error message.
How do I know my file was received by Trimble Connect?

How do I pull a file from Trimble Connect into Propeller?
You can import design files directly from your Trimble Connect projects into Propeller. This eliminates the need for manual downloading and re-uploading, keeping your design files synchronized between the two platforms.
How to Import Design Files from Trimble Connect
- Navigate to your site in your Propeller Portal.

In the top right corner, click the UPLOAD button to open the dropdown menu.

Expand the Connections dropdown list and select Trimble.

A window will appear prompting you to log in. Click LOGIN TO TRIMBLE CONNECT. A new tab will open, directing you to the Trimble website for authentication.

After successfully logging in on the Trimble website, the tab will close, and the import modal will appear in Propeller. This modal prompts you to Import designs from Trimble Connect.
ℹ️ Note: Supported design file types are .pdf, .dxf, .ttm, .ifc, .kml, .kmz, and .xml. The maximum file size is 500MB (2000MB for .ifc files). Folders are ignored. Use the on-screen file structure to browse your Trimble Connect project folders. Select the checkboxes next to the design files you wish to import.

Click the IMPORT DESIGNS button in the bottom right corner of the modal.
The selected design files will be imported into your Propeller site, and the pop-up window will close upon completion.
