The Propeller Platform allows users to download data in numerous file formats for third-party software use. This article explains how to download a custom survey or portions of your survey. However, you can also download the entire survey area.
How do I download a custom export of my orthophoto?
1. Create a polygon (or toggle on a measurement) around the area you need to export.
2. Click on the three dots to the right of the measurement. Click Export.
You can select options to export a measurement.
- Orthophoto via Email
- DEM via Email
- Outline
- Surface
- Contours via Email
Orthophoto via email
Select Orthophoto via email and choose the file type from the dropdown.
The available file types are:
- GeoTIFF
- JPEG
- JP2 / JP2000
- PNG
- KML
Use the provided slider to configure your export, including full or custom resolution and image format. To change the image format, click the dropdown arrow next to GeoTIFF.
You can download a corresponding World File and/or PRJ file. These files need to be included with your custom export for a JPEG.
The final step is to use the provided slider to set your file resolution. You can also type your desired resolution in the input field up to three decimal places.
Some programs do not support BigTIFFs. Trimble Business Center (TBC) can open BigTIFFS if the corresponding world files are selected for export. If you'd like to download your orthophoto as a regular GeoTIFF, consider starting with a medium-resolution export.
Finally, click EXPORT.
You will receive an email indicating that your custom orthophoto export is being processed. The time it takes to process your orthophoto will depend on its size and resolution.
Once your orthophoto has finished processing, you will receive an email with a download link.
Can I share the file?
Yes! To share the file, you can forward the email, and the recipient can use the download link in the email.
Does the download link expire?
The download link will expire after 14 days.
DEM via Email
Select DEM via email and choose the file type from the dropdown. Select the file type from the dropdown menu. The available file type is GeoTIFF. It takes into account any filter and terrain edits applied to the dataset. Select WGS84 or the Site Coordinate system from the Coordinate System dropdown menu.
DEM in geographic CRS, WGS84, can be used for flight planning and terrain following.
Use the provided slider to configure the file resolution of your export.
You can download a corresponding World File and/or PRJ file. These files need to be included with your custom export.
When ready, click EXPORT.
Just like exporting an orthophoto to email, you will receive an email with a download link.
Outline
To export an outline of your measurement, choose Outline, then the file type from the dropdown menu. Outline exports are available in DXF and KML format and will download automatically to your computer.
Surface
To export a surface of your measurement, choose Surface, then the file type. Surface exports are available in DXF format and will download automatically to your computer.
Contours via Email
You can also download a DXF or Shapefile of the contours.
Select Contour via Emailfrom the file options.
You can also specify the contour interval, simplify contours and add 3D vertices.
Just like exporting an orthophoto and DEM to email, you will receive an email with a download link.
