Once you have created a Propeller account, you can access your portal. Let’s start by familiarizing yourself with platform navigation and reviewing the tools you need to get started.
The landing page
The home screen includes a list of all the sites in your portal and an overview of their geographic location, last modified date, and how many surveys have been uploaded to the site.
If you haven’t uploaded any surveys to your site yet, you will get a warning with options to + NEW DATASET or VIEW OTHER SITES.
To view all your sites on a map, click VIEW ON A MAP at the bottom of the page.
You can sort sites on the home page by Last Modified, Alphanumerically, Date Created, Oldest First, or Newest First for better organization.
Or, use the search bar to search for a site.
Star a site to add to the quick tools in the sidebar.
You can easily return to Recently viewed, Starred, or Demo sites. If you have more than one portal, the sidebar also displays all the portals you can access.
The right-top toolbar allows easy access to our Support resources. Here, you can find relevant help articles, review any release notes, access Training Videos in PropellerU, or Contact support with additional questions.
The top-right is where you can access information about your account, including profile information, portal settings, permissions & access, notification settings, Platform analytics, and your license and usage information.
Selecting & viewing datasets
To select a dataset, click on the thumbnail of the site you want to view on the Welcome Page. This opens the most recent survey for that site by default.
To switch between surveys, click the SURVEY dropdown menu and select the survey you want to view. You can switch sites from this page by clicking the SITE dropdown menu and selecting a new site.
Share a site with anyone by clicking the SHARE button. You can invite people and teams to your site and configure permissions from here.
The SETTINGS dropdown provides configurable options for viewing the platform including:
The Base map has options to change the background map on your site to road map, satellite imagery, a combination of both, or no background.
Camera transitions control whether the camera smoothly glides to a new location or instantly transitions to a new view.
Limit Camera will prevent losing sight of the dataset when moving or rotating the camera.
Geolocation Layout switches between Northing, Easting, and Elevation or Easting, Northing, and Elevation.
Site Settings opens the Site Settings dashboard.
About contains the platform build date and information about the user’s system.
To create measurements, click the MEASURE tab and select CREATE A MEASUREMENT. This is where all the measurement tools can be found including volume calculations, progress tracking, and site checks.
