How To Use the Timelapse and Fly-through Features

Timelapse

Timelapse creates a video to easily and quickly share vital updates to stakeholders on your site's progress over time.

From the OUTPUTS tab select Timelapse under the VIDEOS category.

Zoom in or out and pan on the map within the overlay boundary to the area you want to show.

Choose the basemap, the length in seconds of the timelapse video you want to create, and toggle on the surveys you want to include. Then click GENERATE TIMELAPSE. Generating a timelapse can take up to several minutes depending on the attributes (including the Base map and time interval) you chose and the size and the total number of surveys you include.

You will get a notification when it is ready to download.

Click DOWNLOAD to download the mp4 directly to your computer. Notice that the video will go through each survey you added and update the name at the bottom left of the frame.

Fly-through

Like Timelapse, Fly-through uses way-points to create a video to view specific areas and your site's progress easily.

There are two ways to create a Fly-through map—waypoints or manually.

Adding Waypoints

From the OUTPUTS tab, select Fly-through under the VIDEOS category.

Select Using Waypoints from the dropdown menu.

To add a waypoint, zoom and pan the map to the location you want to show and click +ADD WAYPOINT.

You can customize your Fly-through by zooming, panning, and changing the angle of the map to display the exact angles and features you want to show.

If you made a mistake, click the X next to the waypoint you want to delete.

You also have the option to set the time interval of each transition and choose the type of transition. Smoothly will slowly move the map to each waypoint while Zoom moves around each waypoint quickly.

If your fly-though and site are detailed, we recommend setting the pause slightly longer to allow the map to render completely.

Once you are satisfied with the location of the waypoints, transition interval, and transition type, click FLY. Toggle on the Download the video after flying option to create a link to share.

Record your screen

You can also use the option to Manually create a Fly-though.

From the OUTPUTS tab, select Fly-through under the VIDEOS category.

Select Manually from the dropdown menu.

Press the RECORD button to record your screen and capture all of your interactions with the site.

Once you are done recording your screen, press STOP RECORDING.

This will automatically trigger a .webm file to download the screen capture to share.
